Terms & Conditions

By using our equipment, WiFi or by booking a service with Soap Queens, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Self-Service Laundromat Use

 

When using this option in-store, we do ask that you take care in understanding and checking each garment washing instructions and the removal of all personal items.  We will not be liable for damage to items you wash in our machines. For garments that need to be specially treated i.e. leather, silk, cashmere, fur, velvet and other delicate garments, please ensure that these items can be machine washed and tumble dried. Please be courteous at all times to your fellow laundromat users and remove your items as soon as your cycle is finished. Items left unattended after wash/dry completion may be removed by waiting customers or management. If removed by management items will be locked in a locker awaiting collection. If no attempt to collect is made same-day, the items will be considered abandoned.  Please leave the laundromat in a clean and tidy manner and use the on-site mop, broom and cloths located in the customer cleaning cupboard provided to clean up any mess made.  Please use the bin located in store to dispose of any rubbish.  Late at night we ask you leave in a quiet manner to avoid disturbing nearby residents as this is a residential area so please consider the nearby neighbours.  Please note that the store will automatically lock at 11pm, so please keep this in mind when loading machines late at night.  Ensure you leave enough time for your load to finish prior to closing time.  For your security we have monitored security and have installed CCTV cameras and alarms for both your safety, and the security of the laundromat.

 

Pet Dedicated Washer & Dryer - All Pet items must be placed in the clearly marked/signed dedicated pet washer or dryer and MUST NOT be placed in any other machine.  It is prohibited by law to use the washing machines and dryers not specifically allocated to pet washing items.  

2. Cleaning of Garments

We have installed the latest technology with our Washing Machines & Dryers to give us the best chance to remove even the most stubborn stains. However we can not guarantee that all stains will be removed from your garments.  Please be sure to pre-treat any stains you have had trouble with removing yourself as we offer standard wash, dry & fold service only and not a dry cleaning service.

3. Collection of Garments

Drop & Go Lockers - Garments must be collected same-day of the completion SMS notification advising that garments are ready for collection from our Drop & Go Lockers.   After this time staff may remove the garments and lock in the safe service area.  Garments can then be collected when an attendant is next on-site.

Machine Transfer Service - Laundry must be collected from dryers at completion. If left beyond completion, items will be removed from dryers and placed in lockers and must be collected same-day by 11pm store closing. If items are not collected by this time, a locker hire fee of $5 per day for storage may be applicable and is payable prior to retrieving your laundry. If lockers become busy, items may be removed from lockers for other orders and your laundry will be available to collect from our Laundry Services Office during Service Hours (as listed on website and in-store).

Self Service - Garments left in a machine may be removed by waiting customers or an attendant (if on-site) if unattended.  After this time staff may remove the garments and lock in the safe service area.  Garments can then be collected when an attendant is next on-site.

Please remove your garments from the machines in a timely manner once the cycle has finished to avoid other customers doing so on your behalf.  We cannot control what the customers choose to do with your garments if they are left unattended and a machine is needed.  

If items are abandoned for 30 days or more, we shall not be held liable for any loss that you may suffer in such an event.  After 30 Days abandoned items and lost property will be donated to the Red Cross or other charity drop off points.

4. Loss of Garments

We exercise the utmost care in processing garments received to avoid misplacement or loss of items. Your laundry bags are deposited directly into the machines and then each order is folded separately kept together making sure all items are returned back to you.  We have CCTV technology to help us determine any loss in a quick and timely manner through each of our workflow processes.  In the instances where items may be misplaced or lost, we ask that you advise us of any discrepancy within 24 hours of receipt of your garments so that we may investigate the matter with our CCTV cameras and make a determination. No claims for damages will be recognised unless you advise us of the same within 24 hours of collecting the garments.

Our liability with respect to any lost item shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition. In any event this is disputed, the International Fair Claims guide will be used to determine the amount of compensation claimed.

5. Personal Items

Please check all of your garments for pens, money, jewellery or other valuables prior to handover or self serve use of our machines. Be especially careful of leaving cigarette lighters and other dangerous flammable Items inside garments that may harm not only your items but our equipment during a wash or dry cycle.  We cannot be held liable for the loss of any such articles or the damage it may cause your garments.  Damage to our machines may result in repair costs being handed back to the customer.  A lost property box is held in our service office so please feel free to contact our office or talk to our attendant on-site if you have lost an item.  Any lost property items not claimed within 30 days will be donated to the Red Cross.

6. Pickup & Delivery Service (Commercial)

Soap Queens reserves the right to determine the pickup and delivery times at its own discretion and reserves the right to reschedule such times upon prior notice to the customer.

Pickup - Customers must ensure that laundry is ready for pickup on the booked pickup date and time. Soap Queens accept no responsibility for laundry being left unattended at the customers address.  Failure to have laundry ready for pickup may result in a missed collection fee.  

Delivery - If nobody is at the agreed upon address at the booked date and time, this may incur a missed delivery fee, unless Authority To Leave permission has been given by the customer in writing (by way of email or SMS) prior to delivery.  If given Authority To Leave permission, Soap Queens will take a photo as Proof Of Delivery.  Soap Queens will accept no responsibility (in cases of weather, theft, damage or otherwise) for customers laundry being left unattended.

7. Garment Damage & Suitability of Laundering

We exercise utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited whilst using industrial washing & tumble drying machines. 

Wash, Dry and Fold Orders – We will not be liable for damage to items as we wash by the load and do not inspect the care labels of each garment. For garments that need to be specially treated i.e. leather, silk, cashmere, fur, velvet and other delicate garments, please ensure that these items can be machine washed and tumble dried. We cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials which may result in tears or the development of small holes in fabrics prior to cleaning. In laundering we can not guarantee against colour loss, colour bleeding, and shrinkage or against damage to weak and tender fabrics.  We will empty the bags directly into the machines and no checking or sorting will take place and is the responsibility of the customer prior to hand over.  Garments are cleaned entirely at your own risk, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage or fading as a result of the industrial cleaning process.  Laundry items are tagged by the load and not individually tagged, therefore, we cannot accept any liability for missing items. Mixed whites & coloured loads are at your own risk and we will not be liable for the customers decision to mix whites and colours loads in the one laundry bag.  Please understand that 1 laundry bag = 1 load

8. Payment Terms for Wash, Dry & Fold Service

All quoted prices are inclusive of GST and are subject to change without notice.

All payments to be received prior to goods being returned to the customer (unless another agreement has been made e.g. for commercial accounts). 

Corporate customers may choose to open a 30 day credit account with us.  Upon filling out a credit application form we will endeavour to approve within 48 hours in most cases.  This account will only be able to be used for our Wash, Dry & Fold delivery service.

9. Gift Cards

 

Purchase, use or acceptance of our Gift Cards constitutes acceptance of the following Terms & Conditions:

- Redeemable ONLY on services/machines stated on the Gift Card and its terms & conditions

- Gift Cards are NOT redeemable for cash and cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards.

- Gift Cards are non-registered and non-refundable and if lost, stolen or used without permission, card will not be replaced.

 

Please note, additional Terms & Conditions unique to the Gift Card you have purchased/received are applicable. See reverse side of Gift Card.

10. Privacy

We will use your customer information in the regular course of providing services to you. We respect your privacy and warrant that any information you give us will be held with the utmost care and security and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented.

Providing us with correct and up to date personal information allows us to better serve you by:

  1. Contacting you about any issues which may arise during the handling of your garments;

  2. Mailing to you special promotional materials; and

  3. Processing your credit card payments.

We will not sell, rent or share our database of information. We may disclose information to third parties with your consent in order to process your information requests.

11. Events Outside Our Control

We will always endeavour to give you the best service possible with the turn around time we advertise, however we will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, or any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control.  An Event Outside Our Control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control including sudden family loss or staffing issues, or the reasonable control of any of our service providers including (without limitation) strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or closure or failure of public infrastructure or public or private telecommunications networks.

If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of Our obligations under these Terms:

  • The store may need to be closed.

  • We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you; and

  • Our obligations under these Terms will be suspended and the time for performance of Our obligations will be extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control; or

  • You may cancel your order, or we may cancel it

12. Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria and the parties shall submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Victoria.

13. Customer FREE Guest Wi-Fi Terms & Conditions

 

FREE Guest Internet Use and Wireless Access

 

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE USING THE SERVICE.

By accepting this agreement and accessing the wireless network, you acknowledge that you are of legal age, you have read and understood, and agree to be bound by this agreement.

* The wireless network service is provided by the property owners and is completely at their discretion. Your access to the network may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason.

* You agree not to use the wireless network for any purpose that is unlawful or otherwise prohibited and you are fully responsible for your use.

* The wireless network is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. 
 
Access to, and use of Soap Queens Laundry Lounge Free Guest Wi-Fi (referred to as 'the service' or ‘service’) is subject to Soap Queens Laundry Lounge Terms and Conditions (referred to as ‘Terms and Conditions’) set out below.
 
In these Terms and Conditions, any reference to "you" or "your" includes the owner and/or user of the device used to access this service.
 
The service is provided to you free of charge by Soap Queens Laundry Lounge.
 
By accessing and using this service, you agree to accept these Terms and Conditions without limitation. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you will not be able to access or use this service.

 

Accessing the Service

To use the service, you simply need to access this service with your Wi-Fi enabled device. You are not required to pay any fee to access the service at Soap Queens Laundry Lounge.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge FREE Guest Wi-Fi can only support a certain number of users accessing the service at any one time. Soap Queens Laundry Lounge does not guarantee that you will be able to access and/or use the service immediately or each time you visit Soap Queens Laundry Lounge.

You acknowledge and agree that by accepting the terms and conditions that you are at least 18 years of age or that your parent or guardian has approved your usage of the service.
 

User Obligations and Limitations

The service is to be used in a fair and community-minded manner. To this end, Soap Queens Laundry Lounge may, at its absolute and sole discretion, limit or block certain websites and/or content that it considers not appropriate or may bring negative exposure or harm to the Soap Queens Laundry Lounge reputation and/or brand. This includes but is not limited to websites and/or content that:
 

  • Could cause Soap Queens Laundry Lounge to be in breach of any law, code or act which governs its conduct or to incur a liability to any third party;

  • Could interfere with the integrity and/or performance of the service or Soap Queens Laundry Lounge other networks or equipment;

  • Depicts, alludes to, or promotes offensive or illegal behaviour;

  • Is offensive or promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;

  • Harasses or advocates harassment of another person;

  • Exploits people in a sexual or violent manner;

  • Contains nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter or which may contain links to adult websites;

  • Promotes conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libellous;

  • Promotes an illegal or unauthorised copy of another person's copyrights work (including but not limited to file sharing applications used for Bit-Torrent downloads/uploads or peer-to-peer applications generally;

  • Involves the transmission of junk mail, chain letters, or mass mailing, instant messaging or spamming

  • Furthers or promotes any criminal activity or enterprise or provides instructional information about illegal activities including, but not limited to making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;

  • Contains any unwanted malicious software agents, such as viruses, Trojan horses, worms, etc. or other computer programming routines that may damage, modify, delete, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, access without authority or expropriate any system, data or personal information; or

  • Uses sexually suggestive imagery or any other inappropriate, misleading or deceptive content.

Soap Queens Laundry Lounge may immediately terminate and block your access to the service if you use it in a manner that contravenes these Terms and Conditions, attempts to manipulate or bypass any limitations of the service by any means or behave in an aggravating, illegal, inappropriate or unsociable manner as a user of the service.
 

Speed and Reliability

Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will endeavour to provide a reliable, stable and secure connection to the service, but does not guarantee that the access to this shared service will be continuous, fault-free, secure or accessible at all times. Access to this service is not suitable for supporting any application or use, which requires continuous, fault-free network connectivity or uninterrupted data traffic flow. Without limiting any other provision of these Terms and Conditions, Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will not be liable if access to the service becomes unstable, unsecured, slow or unavailable for any reason.
 
The quality of the service is dependent on several factors that govern its performance. Factors such as the speed and throughput of each individual Wi-Fi enabled site, the capabilities of your wireless enabled device, the physical location of the wireless access points in the area, amount of active users, wireless signal interference and the location of your wireless enabled device within the area whilst accessing the service.
 
Service faults, malfunctions or other problems associated with accessing the service will be attended to by Soap Queens Laundry Lounge at its earliest reasonable convenience. Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will not be liable if such faults, malfunctions or problems occur with the service and is not obligated to rectify any such faults, malfunctions or problems associated with the service within any specified timeframe.

 

Security

Whilst Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will endeavour to provide secure access through the service, it cannot guarantee the security of the service at all times. You are solely responsible for any information or data uploaded, downloaded or otherwise communicated via the service and you are responsible for keeping all personal usernames, passwords and other security-based information secure and private at all times.
 
Without limiting any other provisions of these Terms and Conditions, Soap Queens Laundry Lounge shall not, in any way, be liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of the service. Including, but not limited to, any malicious action you may become subject to during your use of the service.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge recommends that you take any necessary measures to protect the security of your devices and data, including using secure transmission techniques (such as encryption, backups, virtual private networks and personal firewalls). 

 

Privacy

Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will only collect, use and store your personal information for the purposes of delivering the service in accordance with applicable legislation and these Terms and Conditions. Without limiting the above, Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will not capture or attempt to capture any personal information whilst you access and/or use the service without your consent.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will capture and process information regarding your web browser type and/or operating system information used by your wireless enabled device in order to determine the most effective way to display the requested information on your device.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge may also collect and store the IP and MAC address of the wireless enabled device that has accessed the service, once the Terms and Conditions of access have been agreed to.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge is not responsible for how a third party (including but not limited to any website accessed through the service) collects and/or uses personal information. You are solely responsible for checking the terms of use and privacy policy of each website you visit and determining whether you accept such terms of use and/or privacy policies.

 

Limitation of Liability

Soap Queens Laundry Lounge makes no warranties or representations as to the accessibility, security, stability or reliability of this service and expressly disclaims any liability or responsibility for any service faults, failures or interruptions or the accuracy, timeliness, completeness, security or reliability of any communications (including without limitation, any transactions) made by using this service.
 
Neither Soap Queens Laundry Lounge nor any other party involved in delivering the service is liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising out of access, or the inability to access the service, even if Soap Queens has been notified of, or advised of the possibility of such damages.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge assumes no responsibility, makes no warranty or representation in relation to, and shall not be liable in respect to use of any third party proprietary software.
 
Soap Queens Laundry Lounge is not responsible for the content of any website accessed or used via the service. Your access to and use of any website or network connection whilst using the service is entirely at your own risk.

 

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless, Soap Queens Laundry Lounge and its personnel, from and against all loss, damage, liability, charge, expense or cost (including all reasonable legal and other professional costs on a full indemnity basis) of any nature or kind arising from a breach of these Terms and Conditions.

The following Legislative Framework underpins the authority of the Soap Queens Laundry Lounge Free Guest Wi-Fi service:

  • Privacy Act 1988

  • Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998

  • Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth)

  • Copyright Act 1968

 
While the Soap Queens Laundry Lounge will endeavour to implement these Terms and Conditions with consistency, due to the ever-changing nature of the Internet, all positions, rules and conditions are subject to change without notice and at the discretion of Soap Queens Laundry Lounge.
